Slots available at reduced rates

I have openings for 2 reduced rates personal therapy slots for anyone who is neurodiverse and on low income/a student/unemployed, and for anyone who is on low income/a student/unemployed.

Please email me here if you’re interested in benefiting from this offer of working with me as either a single one-off session, short-term (six to twelve sessions) or open-ended personal therapy/facilitation.

Before and during my Doctorate training, one of the groups I chose to further learn from and conditions I chose to specialise in were Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities and learning difficulties ( which are often conflated but are different). I also specialised in addiction and complex trauma/PTSD. Most clients from those three groups were some of the individuals who had suffered the most in life and as a result of their suffering, for some, struggled to make ends meet in London, UK or in other cities in the world. They still however managed to set aside some funds to attend therapy and displayed a lot of courage, resilience, willingness to connect/be seen/heard and learn about themselves so that they could lead more joyful lives. I therefore set aside slots in my private clients to support those who wish to have personal therapy/counselling at reduced rates. The way this works is that we have a discussion and those clients are invited to offer a fee based on their means.

If you are neurodiverse, the below chart by Matt Hancock on co-occurrence of neurodiverse conditions, is important and potentially life-changing for many neurodiverse individuals I work with:

Often I have found in my work with neurodiverse clients that many if not most might:

▶️Struggle with some aspects of their daily lives/ functioning as they have undiagnosed and/or a poorly misunderstood/managed co-occurring neurodiverse condition. Many also display traits of OCD.
▶️Also have several co-occurring diagnosed mental health conditions or meet criteria for these and be undiagnosed, further struggling in life and blaming themselves.
▶️Be autistic for ex, and very high functioning, hold senior managerial positions or be very successful in their chosen fields, but also meet criteria for ADHD AND or another neurodiverse condition(s). Due to dysexecutive functioning, arborescent thinking and/or impulsivity for ex, struggle in other areas of their lives (personal and /or creative). Things like cleaning and admin can be a struggle.
▶️Many have undiagnosed dyslexia, dyspraxia.
▶️Likewise they might have ADHD but undiagnosed autism/other and crave routines, struggle with change, suffer from emotional dysregulation.
▶️ALL my clients without exception have suffered from burn-out, overwhelm, workplaces not adapting ( unaware or unwilling to offer reasonable adjustments) and or trauma and PTSD due to years and often decades of micro-agression, misunderstanding, judgement, ignorance and bullying including in the workplace.

Although the training lens/paradigm and focus is slightly different in the Doctorate in Councelling psychology training ( tending not to adopt a diagnostic lens), many of us trained in diagnosis alongside councelling psychology training.

The personal therapy we choose to provide might not adopt a pathologising lens, disgnoses can be helpful.

I myself trained in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), ADHD and other scales ( trauma etc), in assessment, diagnostics and providing therapy and coaching especially to neurodiverse clients for over 4 years of doctoral training and work.
